In a transformative initiative to address Africa’s growing youth challenges, Career karma, Hackbright Academy, Sophia, and AYA Africa, in collaboration with SkillzBooster, proudly announce the launch of the Hoffman Foundation Scholarship. Funded by the Hoffman Foundation, this program is dedicated to breaking financial barriers and equipping 2,000 African youth with world-class digital skills to tackle unemployability and job scarcity across the continent.
Africa is home to the world’s largest youth population, with over 60% of its population under the age of 25. Despite this tremendous potential, youth unemployment remains one of the continent's most pressing challenges. According to the International Labour Organization (ILO), over 12 million youth enter the African labor market every year, yet only 3 million formal jobs are created annually. As a result, millions of young Africans remain unemployed, underemployed, or lack the market-relevant skills needed to secure sustainable livelihoods.
This growing skills gap, combined with limited access to affordable, quality education, threatens economic growth and social stability. The Hoffman Foundation Scholarship seeks to address this crisis by empowering 2,000 deserving African learners with the knowledge, tools, and skills needed to compete in today’s knowledge-driven economy.
The Hoffman Foundation Scholarship, launched by Hackbright Academy, Sophia, and AYA Africa in partnership with SkillzBooster, will provide grants ranging from $600 to $1,500, depending on the program chosen. These grants will cover the majority of course fees, enabling learners to access SkillzBooster’s premium learning opportunities at a highly subsidized cost.
Scholarship recipients will benefit from:
This scholarship will provide an unparalleled opportunity to 2,000 African youth, ensuring they gain the tools needed to overcome barriers to employment and achieve sustainable success.

To ensure accountability and dedication, applicants are required to pay a symbolic non-refundable fee of $29 to confirm their participation in the program and this payment will only be made once the course begins.
